A. Selvaraj (b. 1943)
Finishing his Diploma in Fine Arts course in the College of Arts and Crafts, Madras., he went on to become a life member of the Cholamandal Artists Village and held many solo and group shows all over India. He has participated in numerous workshops as well. His works have been appreciated widely and are in the collections of corporations and individuals all over. Born in Gudiyattam, Tamil Nadu, he is one of the first set of artists to move into Chalamandal. Recipient of the Award of the Progressive Painters’ Association. He has participated in many national workshops and exhibited at the National Art Exhibition, New Delhi; a three-man show in Chennai; one-man shows in Chennai and Bengaluru; a workshop at Gandhigramam, Tamil Nadu; a workshop at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Gujarat; multiple State Lalit Kala Akademi annual shows; workshops and exhibitions organized by Ovium Nunkalai Kuzhu, Chennai; a Cholamandal annual show; and a one-man show at Cholamandal, Chennai.
